Transatlantic liner trades pin hopes on swift 2010 recovery

LAST year was one of the worst years ever experienced in the transatlantic liner trades, and despite some brutal capacity reductions and a halt to the steep slide in freight rates late in the year, there are still no signs of improvement on the demand side, and carriers are facing up to the fact that 2010 may be just as difficult to navigate.
